*Dallas, GA The Funk Cruise Tribute 2016 will be an 8-day cruise on Carnival Valor, sailing from Port Canaveral, Orlando Florida Sep 30-Oct 8, 2016, to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan PR and the Grand Turk.
The live entertainment on this sailing will be Lakeside featuring the original founder of the group, CPT Mark Wood. Rick James’ Stone City Band led by original member, L.A. Sky, and P-Funk Connection with some of the original members from the infamous group Parliament Funkadelic, led by original group member, the funky Ms. Patty Walker.
Organized by Pat Woodard, travel agent and owner of Woodard Enterprises Cruises & Travels, most of the proceeds will go to the Diabetes Association and this cruise will be the first of five years of giving. Different groups will perform each year as well as different organizations to spotlight. Future cruises will raise money for cancer, children’s cancer, sickle cell, and battered and abused women organizations.

The cruise will have 3-full sailing days at sea without port stops. Those will be the jamming days to the live funk of each entertaining group. There will also be a one-hour open-bar private cocktail party with free hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, and a special performer.
Those coming to Florida a day earlier can stay at the nearby Radisson at the Port Orlando Hotel, and have an up-close and personal meet & greet fun time with the band members and other cruisers.
Lakeside will give you your Fantastic Voyage. The Stone City Band will give you Rick James’ singles and duets he performed with Tina Marie. And P-Funk Connection will give you old school funk at it’s finest, with the promise of a “funkin” good time!
