Whoopi Identifies As American; Keith Murray Comes Out as Gay .. Jokingly

whoopi-goldberg*For Whoopi Goldberg, there’s no question about what nationality she claims.

“The View” co-host let it be known Tuesday (Jan. 5) that she is an American and nothing else during a discussion about Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump possibly winning this year’s election for president. During the chat, Goldberger’s fellow co-host, Joy Behar, joked that she would flee the country if Trump became the next president.

Goldberg, who wasn’t amused by the joke, put her stamp down as an American citizen while referencing her family.

“You know what uh uh! This is my country. My mother, my grandmother, my great grand folks, we busted a** to be here,” the 49-year-old entertainer stated. “I’m sorry. I’m an American. I’m not an African-American, I’m not a chick American. I’m an American!”

Goldberg’s comments echo similar statements Raven-Symone made and got slammed on social media for during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2014. Upon hearing Goldberg’s statement, Symone, who also co-host’s “The View,” chimed in with saying, “I’m an American. I’ve been here too long to not just hold American.”

As Goldberg proudly represents her American nationality, Keith Murray reveals to the world that he is gay. Sort of.

keith murrayThe rapper, who is best known for classic hits like “The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World” and “Get Lifted,” made the confession when he called in for an interview on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning show on Wednesday (Jan. 6).

“Keith Murray’s coming out of the closet. I’m gay,” said Murray, who kept his homosexuality a secret from his fans for decades.

During the interview, 41-year-old lyricist shared that he was “happy” to finally reveal his homosexuality to the world.

Apparently, according to BET, Murray was joking about being a homosexual. Upon elaborating on what he said, the Def Squad member admitted that he’s just happy to be back on the scene with new music for fans.

“I’m happy. I’ve been happy all my f*cking life… I’m coming out of the closet with new music and a new documentary,” Murray said, adding that he recently went to rehab and spoke to a psychiatrist about his situation.

As a result, Murray said that therapy helped him to “Clear my head.”

“I was drinking and I was smoking,” he admitted. “So I had to go in and clear my head and I got a psychiatrist. It was the best thing to do just to isolate myself.”
