*Actor Jerome “Ro” Brooks is on a mission to join the world of Marvel. More specifically, Brooks is vying to play the role of Black Panther – hoping to takeover the part from Chadwick Boseman in the 2018 film that will be directed by Ryan Coogler (“Creed”).
“To help make my mission successful, I decided to create a movie trailer of me playing the part of the Black Panther for Marvel Studios to see my talent as a super hero and hopefully consider hiring me in the near future as a super hero in the Marvel Universe,” Brooks said.
Check out the grand trailer below and let Brooks know what you think of his performance in the comments.
“Your views of my trailer could be the difference of me booking a role with Marvel Studios or not,” he added.
Ro has worked on numerous films, commercials and TV shows including: “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, HBO’s critically acclaimed “The Wire,” FX’s “Sons of Anarchy,” Showtime’s “Shameless,” FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine Nine” and “24,” CBS’s “CSI New York,” and many more. He also co-starred alongside Idris Elba in the Toyota Avalon commercial campaign.
Marvel had spoken with Ava DuVernay back in July 2015 about directing the forthcoming “Black Panther” pic, but she declined, citing that her vision and Marvel’s were not the same. F. Gary Grey also expressed interest in directing the film since he passed on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” to direct another film. Then in October, HeroicHollywood reported that Marvel Studios approached Ryan Coogler to direct the film.
Coogler burst on the scene with his critically acclaimed “Fruitvale Station,” which starred his current “Creed” star Michael B. Jordan.
Boseman was cast as Black Panther in October 2014. The superhero will make his first Marvel appearance in “Captain America: Civil War,” due out May 6, 2016.
