Reginald Hudlin to Receive AAFCA ‘Salute to Excellence’

*The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) will give veteran film and television producer/director Reginald Hudlin its inaugural “Salute to Excellence Award” during the 7th AAFCA Awards ceremony.

A co-producer of the upcoming 88th Academy Awards broadcast, Hudlin was nominated for a 2012 Oscar as one of the producers of “Django Unchained.” He is also a former president of BET, as well as a successful director of films that include “House Party” and “Boomerang.”

“AAFCA selected Reggie as the first recipient of the “Salute to Excellence Award” because of his track record of excellence in the entertainment industry,” says Gil Robertson, who is president of the organization. “As a creative force he continues to provide a great example of advancement for the current and next generation of African-American in the entertainment community.”

The association also announced that Entertainment Tonight correspondent, Nischelle Turner will make her second appearance as the show’s emcee.

“We are lucky to have Nischelle back to host for a 2nd year,” adds Robertson. “She is not only a respected journalist, but also a #BTB – beautiful, talented and bright.”

The 7th AAFCA Awards will take place on Wednesday, February 10th at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood.
