*Veteran music executive Antonio “L.A.” Reid, “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels, former U.S. Attorney Gen. Eric Holder, businesswoman Mellody Hobson and singing legend Patti Labelle will be saluted at the 2016 BET Honors.
The show will take place at the Warner Theatre in Washington on Jan. 23, and air on the cable channel on Feb. 23, the network announced Tuesday.
BET Honors highlights African Americans performing at top levels in the areas of entertainment, literature, business, education and more.
Aretha Franklin, Berry Gordy and Ice Cube were among the honorees at last year’s ceremony.
Talk show host and comedian Arsenio Hall will host the special. Performers will be announced at a later date.
