According to reports, Chris Rock has been confirmed as host of the 2016 Academy Awards.
The announcement of Rock as host of the event, formally referred to as the 88th Academy Awards, was made by producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin on Wednesday.
It was reported by Variety on Tuesday that the funny man was in serious talks to return to the awards show. He previously hosted the Oscars in 2005.
“I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” said Rock in a statement. “It’s great to be back.”
