Beyoncé Goes Patriotic for Beat Mag; Reveals What Fear Tastes Like

*For many people, success and Beyoncé go hand in hand.

But according to the singer, the status is a yummy reaction to an emotion she is knows well.

“What does fear taste like? Success. I have accomplished nothing without a little taste of fear in my mouth,” Beyoncé told Beat magazine.

In addition to success and fear, Time reports the “7/11” entertainer revealed some fun facts about herself during her chat with Beat. For instance, she likes her pizza with extra tomato sauce and jalapeños, the last song she got stuck in her head was Fetty Wap’s “Jugg” and if she had to choose one of her own eras to dress up as for Halloween, it would be either “Survivor” or “Bootylicious” Beyoncé.

Beyoncé’s chat with Beat marks a rare occasion as she has a rep of not speaking directly to the media. Time cites an August article from The New York Times, which revealed that it’s been about two years or so since the singer gave an interview for a print magazine.

In addition of speaking with Beat, Beyoncé graces the cover for the music mag’s latest issue, according to The Guardian. Shot by Ryan McGinley, the cover gives a wink to the cover of Bruce Springsteen’s classic 1984 album, “Born in the USA,” with Beyoncé wearing a flag-striped swimsuit and cropped red hoody in front of a US flag. For his album cover, Springsteen is captured in front of a US flag, wearing patriotic colors

Beyoncé’s full interview with Beat is set to be released today, Oct. 21.
