Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA Among Awardees at PETA’s 35th Anniversary Bash

rza (peta award)

*Wednesday night at PETA’s 35th anniversary party at the Hollywood Palladium, longtime vegan RZA was honored for his commitment to animal rights after starring in a public service announcement urging fans to give up meat, eggs, and dairy foods. The event featured exclusive performances by Sir Paul McCartney and Beck and was hosted by Pamela Anderson and Anjelica Huston.

Taking the stage to accept his award, the Wu-Tang Clan star said:

“I would like to thank PETA for honoring me with a Humanitarian Award. It’s an award that does not aim to reflect my art—it instead reflects my heart. With the abundance of … alternatives, I don’t think it’s mandatory to kill animals in order … to thrive and survive. And, more importantly, it’s definitely not mandatory to kill each other. ”

Please let me know if you have any questions. More information is available at PETA.org. Many thanks!
