The past two seasons, the Magic seemed more focused on developing their newly assembled team. However, this year they intend to do a major push towards the championship. Their first step in revamping the team was to replace previous coach Jacque Vaughn with new coach Scott Skiles—a former Orlando Magic point guard.

Last year under Vaughn’s coaching the Magic won 25 games, the most they have won in the last three seasons.  While the team lacks any stand-out stars, Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, and Elfrid Payton are Magic’s highly regarded young players that fans are hopeful may lead the team to more wins this upcoming season.

In order for the team to make it into the playoffs, the Magic need to prevent their opponents from gaining on them in the last quarter of the game; and win approximately 15 more games than last year, which will be a significant challenge.  Both sports critics and Magic fans are questioning if the team can achieve this goal?  The organization must also consider that the teams that make up the eastern conference will be playing at a higher level.

The first game of the regular season starts October 28, 2015, against the Washington Wizards.
