Chris Brown Offers to Teach Australians About Domestic Violence

8th Annual BTE All-Star Celebrity Kickoff Party

*After Australia banned him from entering the country due to his domestic violence case, Chris Brown is now offering to educate Australians about the issue, apparently hoping to be let in.

Activists have been campaigning against Brown’s tour of Sydney, Melbourne and Perth due to his 2009 assault of Rihanna. He pleaded guilty to felony assault and was freed from probation this year.

The experience, Brown claims, now makes him the perfect candidate to help raise awareness. He used Twitter to explain:

Michaelia Cash, who was assistant minister for Immigration and Border Protection before a Cabinet reshuffle last week, said of Brown’s situation, “People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia.’”

Cash, who is now minister for women, added, “This is a government that is not afraid to say: ‘no.’”
