*If you thought season 3 of Fuse’s “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce” was somethin’ else, baaaby you are in store for a treat with season 4.
The Queen Diva is back on televisions near you with more booty shakin’, shoulder workin’ drama. Get ready to sip on all the tea that Big Freedia will be spilling as she gives you a deeper look into the makings of her.
With her new book “Big Freedia: God Save the Queen Diva!“ Freedia shares details of personal relationships; situations that helped build her character, her rise to stardom, her experience in Hurricane Katrina and early bounce days. For those of you who haven’t read her memoir, she talks about growing up young, black and gay in New Orleans at a time when it wasn’t openly accepted.
“There has been so many situations that I felt that God has saved me and transformed my life into something more special, to have a better meaning in the world and to have a purpose.”
The book explains her start in church, why they call her the Queen Diva and much more.
The crazy, high-energy cast of friends and dancers “The Divas” will be bigger and more entertaining. We will get to learn more about each of them – from Tootie to Skip – and gain insight on some of their relationships and deep-rooted family issues.
Although many personal and intimate details are played out in the book and play out on our television screens, Freedia says no relationships were destroyed and everyone is just as tight as ever. How can this be achieved, when many can’t even hold water let along solid friends? Honesty according to Freedia, “all of the people that have been apart of my life they really love me and they know that I wouldn’t do anything to shame them or to hurt them or harm them in anyway.” That doesn’t mean there will be no more drama, as there will be some heated situations and tongue-lashing.
Nothing is staged. The tears are real. The excited and celebrations are real.
“It moves so fast with my everyday life, all they can do is follow me,” Freedia said about staging scenes. “We have no time for plotting and trying to come up with scripts. It just moves so fast, because I have to get real things done with my career while I’m shooting for the show at the same time.”
Big Freedia, who is an executive producer on the show, is well on her way to bigger and better things. She is a respected representative of the LGBT+ community, artist, fashionista, therapist in helping others in many similar situations and then some. She says that is it important to use your platform:
“It’s just important that I keep on grinding and stay focused on what’s important to me on my journey.”
You know this new season will be back with more drama, new music, more travels, an international tour, an art gallery session (yes you read right) and the motions of many different relationships including the ups and downs with her boo Devon (will Freedia FINALLY say buh-bye to him?).
