*A new era begins tonight on Comedy Central, as Trevor Noah takes command of “The Daily Show” promising a fresh new perspective on the day’s news and political circus.

As previously reported, the 31-year-old South African comic will welcome Kevin Hart as his first guest, perhaps setting the tone for his unique voice moving forward.

“We are obviously changing the set a tiny bit. Still want the show to be recognized as ‘The Daily Show’ because that’s what it still is,” Noah said at the TCA Press Tour in August, when asked what would be different. “In terms of content on the show, I guess we’re still dealing with the same issues. The issues are not really changing in America and in the world, so really it’s just a different angle that we are looking at things from, and it’s my angle, really, but the show still has its voice.”

Noah says his race, and the prospective it brings to current issues, is the biggest factor that will set him apart from Jon Stewart:

“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” premieres tonight at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
