Adrienne Bailon and Fiancé Lenny Santiago Call It Quits

Adrienne Bailon, Lenny Santiago

*Adrienne Bailon has confirmed to Us Weekly that she and her fiancé Lenny Santiago have called it quits after six years together.

“The Real” host and the Roc Nation exec announced their engagement in February, and the former Cheetah Girl shared the news on Instagram, writing, “I will soon be Mrs. Lenny S.”

Unfortunately, soon will never come for Adrienne, as she tells Us Weekly that things didn’t go as the couple planned.

“I am, of course, sad that things didn’t go as we planned, but we still remain close friends,” Bailon said.

“Six years is a long time to be together, but we had to make the decision to go with our hearts and not be embarrassed or afraid of change,” Adrienne explained about their decision to split.

“He absolutely helped make me a better person and I will forever cherish the time we shared together.”

While taping the September 16 episode of “The Real,” 31-year-old Bailon announced her breakup to the audience, E! News reports.

“Through the summer, I went on my little Eat Pray Love journey and it was a time for me to come to terms with my own truth and my honesty and I am not engaged anymore, and we’re in a good place,” she admitted.

“It’s not an ‘aw’ thing, I promise you. We’re gonna be great friends forever and I think it was a hard decision to make when you’re with somebody for such a long time. I think as women, we have a hard time with change. It was hard for me. But you have to be true to yourself. You have to be honest with yourself. And I think having time on my own gave me that opportunity. I’m so grateful to have girls who love and support me, and we’re gonna be OK.”

Bailon, who once dated Rob Kardashian, also said that she’s happy to be back at work along side her fellow talk show hosts.

“Right now I am taking time for myself and I’m glad to be back at work with my favorite ladies and the incredible crew of ‘The Real,’” she said.

“Life lessons are hard but I’m grateful that I have a platform to share my journey and hopefully encourage, inspire, or just let women know they are not alone and to never give up on finding love.”
