Andra Day Rises Up with Serena Williams in New Beats by Dre Campaign

*Debut Album ‘Cheers to the Fall’ in Stores Now 

Burbank, CA: Retro-pop/soul singer Andra Day’s uplifting single “Rise Up” provides the musical backdrop for a new campaign from Beats By Dre with Serena Williams.

This universal message in the empowering song has resonated with listeners, critics and even Apple CEO Tim Cook and Apple Music’s Jimmy Iovine. The single was hand-selected by the team at Beats By Dre to appear in the new 3 minute ad that debuted Wednesday and features Williams waking up early and putting on her noise-cancelling headphones in preparation for her grand slam quest.

The album’s crown jewel can be found in “Rise Up” which Andra describes as a song about our relationship to one another. “I look at all of us as brothers and sisters and a body working together. ‘Rise Up’ is saying one piece isn’t better than the other, and when one part is struggling, I’m going to help and lift you up.   I will rise up with you.”
