*Bill Cosby may not have many supporters, but you can add Damon Wayans to the tiny list as he stood up for the embattled comedy legend during an appearance on New York’s 105.1 Breakfast Club radio show on Friday (Sept. 4).
Although Cosby has been dogged in recent months with accusations of sexual assault and drugging from more than two dozen women, not to mention Cosby’s own confession of buying drugs to use on women he wanted to sleep with, Wayans is not sold on the “The Cosby Show” star being a serial rapist.
“I just don’t believe it. I think it’s a money hustle,” Wayans said while throwing jokes around about the situation.
“Tell the truth, if I was him, I would divorce my wife, wink wink, give her all my money, and then I would go and do a deposition. “I’d light [a] three-hour cigar, I’d have me some wine, and maybe a Quaalude, and I would just go off because I don’t believe he was raping.”
“I believe he was in relationships with all of them and then he’s like, ‘You know what? [Cosby is] 78. It don’t work like that no more. I can’t get it up for any of y’all. Bye, bitches,’ and then they’re like, ‘Oh, really? Rape!,’ ” continued Wayans, who went in more about his opinion of Cosby’s victims.
“And some of them, really, is unrapeable. I look at them and go, ‘No, he don’t want that. Get outta here!’ Look, I understand fame. I’ve lived it. Women will throw themselves at you. They just want be in your presence. There’s some that innocently will come up there, but not 40-something women. They’re not that naive.”
As the interview progressed, Breakfast Club host Angela Yee mentioned that several of the women did come forward years ago. But Wayans would not be swayed as he stuck to his guns while dismissing Yee, saying, “Bitch, how many times did it happen? Just listen to what they’re saying.”
Wayans’ defense of Cosby and his “unrapeable” comment did not go over well with Jane Fonda, who suggested to TMZ that Cosby go directly to jail. To hear the rest of Fonda’s response to Wayans’ Breakfast Club interview, check out the video below:
