Neighbors Complain Kardashians Wasting Water During Drought

*In a story that Kim Kardashian’s spokesperson is calling “boring and stupid,” the Kardashian clan is being criticized for maintaining lush lawns amid a record California drought, and they defiantly refuse to cut back their water usage, the NY Post’s Page Six reports.

The story is “boring and stupid,” said Ina Treciokas, a spokeswoman for Kim Kardashian. “I don’t think celebrity water usage is making a dent in the fight against the drought.”

The Post last week took pictures of the Calabasas estates of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, which boasts hydrated greenery – a cause of complaint among neighbors. Kylie Jenner, who recently bought a home nearby her half-sisters, has been cited and ticketed $100 for water wasting — twice.

Kim Kardashian cannot be fined because her new Hidden Hills estate with Kanye West was recently built and there is no water use to compare with past years.

Jeff Reinhart, a spokesman for the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, said others are cooperating. “The vast majority is obviously complying, our water usage was down 37 percent over June 2013,” he said.

California’s drought is now in its fourth year, and 97% of the state is experiencing dry conditions, sparking water shortages and huge wildfires, USA Today reports. An Alaska company is planning to be the first to ship massive amounts of fresh water to the state California, as much as 10 million gallons a month.

Kim recently landed in hot water with the FDA recently when, back in July, she announced her partnership with her morning sickness drug of choice, Diclegis. As TMZ reports, when Kim posted an ad for the drug on social media without the proper warnings, the FDA threatened to yank the product off of the market because of “misbranding.”

Kim was forced to repost the ad on social media with proper warnings, saying: ”i guess you saw the attention my last #morningsickness post received…” She then included a list of safety information and side effects.
