*Considering that some think of Snoop Dogg as American musical royalty, it’s fitting that the rapper’s image was used for promotional purposes by Nobilified, a company that will reinterpret your likeness into that of old European nobility.
Snoop is seen above as Cesare Borgia (1475-1507), the Italian duke and powerful military commander, and Archduke Leopold Wilhelm (1614-1662), an Austrian military commander (below).
Esquire reports that this concept is not completely new. Artist Kehinde Wiley is known for depicting black men in the poses of Old Masters paintings, a tradition that historically denied such groups.
Snoop has sold more than 35 million albums, and his fixture in American pop culture was evident during his performance at Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pa. on August 15. According to a report, Snoop’s two-hour set, before a crowd of 5,018, included a medley of his greatest hits. After his energetic performance, Snoop told the crowd to look at his face because:
“This ain’t the last time you’ll see it, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania,” he said. “Anytime you want, I’ll be back.”
As we previously reported, Snoop’s son Cordell Broadus quit the UCLA football team so he can pursue his passion for filmmaking. Head coach Jim Mora confirmed his decision in a statement released by the UCLA athletic department.
“Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life — in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions,” Mora said. “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.”
Snoop, who has a passion for football, has pushed his son to play since he was a kid. They starred in ESPN’s documentary-style reality show, “Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream” last year, which chronicled Jr.’s football ambitions and natural ability to dominate the game.
