Police said Flanagan — who went by the name Bryce Williams professionally — walked up to Parker and Ward during a live report at Smith Mountain Lake, near Roanoke. Flanagan shot and killed Parker and Ward and wounded the woman they were interviewing, Vicki Gardner, the head of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce, police said. Flanagan drove away from the scene.

Gardner underwent emergency surgery, according to a Roanoke hospital. She is in stable condition.
