Anthony Michael Hobbs’ ‘One Nation’ Screening at San Diego Film Festival Aug 28-30

Ten-year old Baltimore actor Anthony Michael Hobbs’ short film One Nation to be screened at San Diego International Kids Film Festival August 28 – 30, 2015

*A three minute short film written, directed and starred in by ten year-old Baltimore actor Anthony Michael Hobbs, titled One Nation, will be screened at the upcoming San Diego International Kids Film Festival August 28 – 30, 2015 (Schulman Auditorium, City of Carlsbad Library, 1775 Dove Lane, 92011) and at the New York Ocktober Film Festival October 1 – 4th (Poets Den Theater and Gallery, 309 E. 108th Street, NY).

One Nation has already been screened at four other film festivals. The Aurora Picture Show Extremely Young Film Festival at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; the Alhambra Theatre Film Festival in Indiana where he won their Spirit Award; the West Chester Film Festival in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey where it won Grand Prize.

One Nation is about a boy name Steven and his five friends (Jeffrey, Spice, Hope, Rose, and Brianna); kids who decided that they needed to give back to the members of the Army Forces returning to the U.S. after fighting for our freedoms.

The San Diego International Kids Film Festival was established for youth and kids film projects to be seen by an international audience and to promote the idea of entertainment with education. Hobbs film is part of the kids’ projects he is one of nine from the United States and one of 23 in total. Anthony Michael’s One Nation will be screen Friday August 28th at 12:14pmPT. Other countries kids’ entries are from are Spain, India, Mexico, Canada and UAE (United Arabs Emirates).

The Ocktober Film Festival in New York was founded by Emelyn Stuart to create a way individuals can express themselves though films and new media. It will host a red carpet opening night October 1st.

Anthony Michael Hobbs’ acting credits include performances in films, such as 2013 Emmy Award nominated PBS special “The American Experience: The Abolitionist” where he played a young Frederick Douglas; starring in DreamWorks documentary “How to Train Your Dragon: Dragons and Dinosaurs” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bekKOmfsWfc); United Way ‘s PSA (https://vimeo.com/54017197);  Norwegian Cruise-Line’s commercial; several PBS Sprout Network mini-segments; the national classroom program called KinderRhyme – which appears in over 2600 school programs, and in a Comcast’s Xfinity segment.
