*Hold up. Wait a minute. What just happened?

We’re finding out that Snoop Dogg‘s son, Cordell Broadus, who was one of the most recruited high school football players in the nation is leaving the UCLA Bruins football program. Whoa, talk about bombshells.

According to TMZ, he’s dumping the team to “pursue other interests.”

The signal that something was amiss was when the UCLA freshman didn’t show up for the first week of training; he was expected to compete for a starting wide receiver position this season. And get this … he still intends to stay at the school and take classes.

So what’s up with that?

Well, head coach Jim Mora says young Broadus told him he’s into making movies and that’s what he’s going to do we suppose through his “Film School Productions” company.

Here’s what Coach Mora had to say about Cordell leaving the sports program:

“Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree.”

Hmm, we can only wonder what kinda way his pops is feeling right now.

In other words, what the hell is the real story?
