The Reason Wendy Williams Squashed NeNe Leakes’ Talk Show Revealed

wendy-williams_nene-leakes*Who knew?!

Um, er, in case you didn’t knowWendy Williams put a halt on a proposed daytime talk show that was to be hosted by NeNe Leakes. Yep, that’s the story. But what’s the scoop you ask?

Well, according to LoveBScott.com, the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was developing the show to air after “The Wendy Williams Sbow.” With both shows being produced by Debmar-Mercury, the company talked with Williams before moving forward with Leakes’ show.

Although there were rumors they didn’t get along, Williams ended up greenlighting Leakes and her people to move forward with the show.

Things ultimately fell apart when Wendy criticized Leakes on her show for defacing her Hermes Birkin bag, LoveBScott noted, adding that Leakes was anything but happy over what Williams said. As a result, Leakes put Williams on blast in an open letter in which she called the talk show personality “Wendell.”

From there it was on as Williams flexed her boss status by giving her people (Debmar-Mercury) a choice – her or Leakes.

As it turned out, Williams was the top choice among her people based on the success of her show. With that came the demise of Leakes’ talk show.

And that’s the alleged story behind Leakes’ talk show being canned. If things turned out differently, do you think NeNe would’ve conquered daytime TV over Williams? Or do you think Williams had other motives for preventing Leakes from entering her realm?

  1. Nene’s show would have been a strong competitor b/c she hasn’t burned celebrity bridges like Wendy has over the years. I could see Beyoncé or Oprah sitting down with Nene b4 they would with Wendy. Nene has a more appealing rags to riches story also.

  2. I think Wendy should have let NeNe go forward with her show while we all watch her fall on her face which she will because her attitude is to bad

  3. Oh yea, Nene can conquer daytime talk show. In her dreams! Girl please! She’s not as famous and known as Wendy Williams. Nene is dreaming zzzzz

  4. NEVER BURN BRIDGES.
NEVER BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU.
NEVER COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH.
NEVER SLAM THE DOOR IN THE FACE OF SOMEONE THAT OPENED THEIR DOOR FOR YOU.

  5. nene would have only had 6 months an the she would have be gone… she is just too messy.
none of the other house wifes would even want to be on the show . other big star WOULD NEVER even want to do the show either,, besides WENDY HAS IT ALL COVER LOL..LOVE TO wendy…

  6. Is this what we do to one another? Until we unify as a people, we will never move ahead. Why stop your skin-folks money? Hopefully, this story is false.

  7. I salute both women in their accomplishments and salute those before them who paid the way for them to host their own daytime show. Now, let’s be real they both have something to bring to the table. Wendy can’t be Nene and Nene can’t be Wendy! Therefore someone felt intimidated by the opponent, and felt it was not a need to congratulate the opponent. I understand no one wants to be knocked out the race or the game when they’ve worked so hard to build a reputation, but also a business. It’s also understood, change is necessary and it’s ok to step out the boat and see what the world has to offer, that’s how you’ll know and learn from a lesson to make it an experience. She jumped out th boat and walked on faith conquering Atlanta Housewives of Atalnta, she jumped out the boat and was featured on Glee, she jumped out th boat and was featured on Dancing With The Stars, She jumped out the boat and featured her clothing line on QVC, and she jumped out the boat and was one of the main characters in Cinderella! I think her resume and work cv portfolio speaks for it self, the same way Wendy’s does. Why not give another “woman” the opportunity and motivate her by wishing her the best in her endeavors? When you tell someone no, don’t be surprise when the man upstairs opens a door! No man can open and No man can shut! So…I salute my women, but I don’t salute down talking someone’s dreams nor their motivation which both (Wendy and Nene) will inspire the next rising girl to learn from leaders such as them!
