*New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is the subject of a new Showtime Sports original documentary coming this fall, with LeBron James among the executive producers.
Cruz was cruising along as a salsa-dancing touchdown machine until October 2014, when he sustained a knee injury that ended his season.
“I Am Giant: Victor Cruz,” set to premiere this fall, follows “Cruz’s improbable rise to football stardom, demoralizing injury, and his dramatic attempt at a comeback,” according to the network.
The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc., at the Television Critics Association’s annual Summer Press Tour.
The film, currently in production, will be directed by Gotham Chopra (“Kobe Bryant’s Muse”) who will also executive produce alongside his partners Chris Uettwiller and Martin Roe.
Cruz also serves as an executive producer alongside his business partner Elaina Watley under their Kennedy Blvd. banner. LeBron James and Maverick Carter are also executive producing under their SpringHill Entertainment.
