Mike Brown’s Death Mocked by Police Facebook Post

*As opposed to saying it’s racism, we’ll be charitable and go with the old “it’s them against us” school of thought at work … we suppose.

On Facebook a police group has decided to stir things up by reportedly posting a memorial tribute of the mocking kind to Michael ‘Mike’ Brown on the 1-year anniversary weekend of his death at the hands of former Ferguson, MO police office Daren Wilson. Brown was unarmed.

According to a report at Raw Story, a Facebook group called “Police Officers” reportedly posted a photoshopped image of a crude memorial plaque that read:

“There once was a thug named Brown, Who bum-rushed a cop with a frown, Six bullets later, He met his creator, Then his homies burnt down the town.”

Before the offensive tribute was removed, it had received close to 4,000 Facebook “likes” and was shared more than 1,700 times, Raw Story says. But some members of the closed group objected to the image.

“Sorry, while I support my LEO [law enforcement officer] brothers,” one commenter wrote, “this is very distasteful. We are above this garbage. Should take down.”

“Mike Brown chose his path, one that has lead [sic] this country into complete divisiveness. He’s not a martyr, he was a thug, who robbed a clerk then made the adult choice to fight a cop, of which he intended to murder,” the group’s administrator responded.

The offensive verbiage apparently originated on “CoonTown,” a now-banned Reddit community, however it was reprinted on Facebook by the Libertarian group Communism Kills, according to the Raw Story report.
