Bill Cosby Ordered to Give Deposition for Civil Lawsuit

bill-cosby *Bill Cosby’s legal drama continues to unfold as the embattled entertainer gears up to deliver another deposition under oath.

BET.com reports the deposition was ordered by a California judge, in reference to a civil lawsuit filed by Judy Huth. According to the suit, which was filed in December, Huth claims Cosby molested her at the Playboy Mansion back in 1974, when she was just 15 years old.

Revealing specific details, Huth further claims Cosby took her to the Mansion and tried to put his hand down her pants before taking her hand in his and forcing her to perform a sex act on him. Huth, who is now 57, filed her lawsuit in December. She goes on to claim that the alleged incident caused her severe emotional distress that she didn’t fully understand until recently.

BET referenced a California law that extends the statute of limitations, as well as Huth being a minor at the time of the alleged molestation, as the reason she was allowed to file her claim.

Although Cosby’s tried to get the case dismissed, that effort failed as well as his request for Huth to take her deposition first. As a result, the California Supreme Court ordered the comedian to be deposed on October 9. Huth, who is represented by Attorney Gloria Allred, will give her deposition on October 15.

“We are pleased that we will now be able to move ahead without further delay on Ms. Huth’s case, and we look forward to taking Mr. Cosby’s deposition on October 9,” Huth’s lawyer Gloria Allred said in a statement.

In addition to Huth, Allred represents several of Cosby accusers and is pushing for an extension of statute of limitations laws.
