*A very enthusiastic Keke Palmer joined her “Scream Queens” co-star Niecy Nash, their fellow cast members and producers in Beverly Hills Thursday for the Fox portion of the Television Critics Association press tour.

Palmer, who plays sorority pledge Zayday Williams in the upcoming murder mystery/horror-comedy, said she is most excited about being in the same show as Hollywood’s original scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis.

“I grew up watching every last one of the ‘Halloweens!’ My sister and I were obsessed with that. We love her. Ride or die for Jamie Lee!” Palmer shouted. Curtis, 56, plays Dean Munsch in the college-set series.

“When I found out that I was gonna be doing this show with her, it was absolutely unbelievable and she is cool as hell, I’ll tell you that,” Palmer said.

Meanwhile, Curtis was just as complimentary toward Niecy Nash. Apparently, the veteran actress has trouble keeping a straight face when Nash goes off script.

“Yes, she says what they write, but then she says way more than that,” Curtis told critics Thursday. “I’m just going to give you all my secret.”

Below, Curtis reveals her secret to keep from laughing during Niecy’s adlibs:

Meanwhile, Niecy says that when “cut” is yelled, she and her co-stars gather together to try and figure out what the hell is going on. Creator Ryan Murphy deliberately keeps them in the dark.

“I’ve never been a part of a series where you don’t know what’s happening, but it is so delicious,” she said. “What happens is, when we’re on break from scenes, we’re like, ‘Okay, so who you think the killer is?’ We don’t know. We all have our own theories, our own thoughts about how it’s going to flesh out. So I love it, we get just enough information to stay hooked.”

Scream Queens premieres Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. on Fox. Watch an inside look below:
