Birdman Finally Speaks About Fallout with Lil Wayne (WATCH)

Brian 'Birdman' Williams

*Cash Money fans have been patiently observing from the sidelines as Lil Wayne and Birdman’s feud has played out for months now. While Lil Wayne has been expressive in social media, neither he nor Birdman have given an interview about their fallout.

As MTV reports, their feud started with a tweet from Weezy in December, where he declared that he wanted off Cash Money because he felt like “a prisoner.” It then turned into a $51 million lawsuit against the label, drinks being throw at nightclubs, and even an indictment which named Birdman and Young Thug in connection to Weezy’s tour bus shooting.

Birdman (Bryan Williams)  has finally spoken about the fallout in an interview with Angie Martinez, below are snippets – which aired on New York’s Power 105.1 radio station on last week.

Birdman Was Caught Off Guard By Wayne’s Tweet:
“That was shocking to everybody. I never thought he would say anything negative about me ever, in no lifetime. I never thought that could ever happen. For that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me — that was a lot, that sh-t f–ked my day up. I love my son, he mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life.”

They Still Haven’t Spoken About It — Although They See Each Other Often:
“I ain’t speak to him about it. I just take it for what it is. I ain’t gon’ call him. I’m an in-person type of person, so I stay to myself. I’ve seen him a few times. We work everyday right next door to each other — my studio and his studio is right next door, so I see him everyday. I don’t say nothing. Sometimes I go over there, listen to his music. It’s not an everyday thing that we come in each other rooms but I do go over there and check on him.”

He Doesn’t Think Their Relationship Will Change:
“Wayne’s forever my son. That ain’t gon’ change no matter what. I think what’s going on is just some business. And my perspective is, I’ma do whatever he wanna do but he still gon’ be my son. I want him to make the decision that he wanna make. I brought him in this game, I brought us from nothing and turned it into something. He took it and brought it to another level, which is something he was supposed to do, us being a team. At the end of the day, no matter what he wanna do, I’m with him. That’s my son, I love him to death. he got my blessings and i support him.”

He Thinks He’s Treated Wayne Fairly:
“With my son Wayne, I feel like everything we did, and how we built this here…I gave him a $100-plus million contract, $67 million up front, the biggest contract in hip-hop to me. And it didn’t take an organization to do this — I did this for my son and that meant the world to me that I was able to do that. And what’s going on now, I don’t really know how it’s gon’ turn out.”
