KDAY 93.5FM joins EURweb.com and Praise 98FM as media sponsors of the Sat October 24, 2015 ULMII entertainment conference
“Where Hip-Hop Started” Urban Contemporary radio station KDAY 93.5FM joins EURweb.com and Praise 98FM as media sponsorships of the Saturday October 24, 2015 “Uplifting Minds II” (ULMII) free entertainment conference at the Celebrity Centre (5930 Franklin Ave, 90028 – free parking) in Hollywood, California from 1 – 5 p.m.. The conference offers a free entertainment business panel discussion from 1 – 2:30 p.m. and a national talent showcase competition in singing, songwriting and dance. KDAY 93.5 FM will host the talent showcase from 3 – 5 p.m.
May, 2014 KDAY was acquired by Alex Meruelo’s Meruelo Group, its Media arm, from Magic Broadcasting which sold off all its radio holdings. Meruelo is a minority owned construction and engineering company that also recently acquired KWHY-TV, a Spanish speaking television station (Fox channel 22). The deal with KDAY 93.5FM (Los Angeles/Redondo Beach) also included its sister station KDEY 93.5 FM (Riverside/San Bernardino), which simulcasts KDAY. Both stations’ target market is the African-American and Hispanic communities.
The 16 year old ULMII free entertainment conference’s other media sponsors include EURweb.com, one of the first and most read online magazines targeting the African-American market and is published by former syndicated radio host Lee “The Voice” Bailey (RadioScope, RaberCom). Praise 98FM’s “Lady Charmaine Live” Show is a sponsor of the ULMII community event. Lady Charmaine, a former ULMII talent showcase panelist, is Program Director and host of the “Lady Charmaine Live” Show at the multi-Stellar Award nominated Gospel radio station (www.Praise98FM.com). Eunice Moseley, ULMII founder and host of the entertainment business panel discussion, is a weekly guest on a segment for the “Lady Charmaine Live” Show at 11 a.m.PT called “The Pulse of Entertainment Weekly Update”.
