Dr. Rosie Milligan: It’s Time for Black Leadership to Make Sense

*The NAACP’s plan for marching to the Capitol on August 1, 2015 is a “BUNCH OF BULL ****.” It’s a bunch of bull and a waste of time, money and energy. The jobs are not at the Capitol. If you want to march, then march downtown to your city, county, state and federal building; and ask why blacks are not working there. Shut down the construction sites until blacks are working. March to the hotels in your city and inquire why blacks are not working in the hotels, and especially when black churches and black organizations are hosting their events at these hotels. March to your city, county and state representative’s office and take a look at who is working – not many blacks, if any at all.

It’s time to stop the “NONE” sense and start doing something that makes “SOME” sense. STOP WASTING PEOPLE’S TIME AND MONEY! When one does not know what to do, do nothing until you figure out what makes common sense.

Why would the NAACP march to Washington on August 1, 2015 when they know that Minister Farrakhan has planned his march for October 2015? This act shows stupidity and adds to the fact that we continue to move in mono-fashion – doing the same stupid things, expecting a different result. With the status of the hate climate in America, why would one place people in harm’s way? This is stupidity at its highest.

Why doesn’t the NAACP march to the homeless section of town where thousands of black folk and their children are sleeping in cardboard boxes and are waiting in line for a chance to sleep in a shelter during the night where first come is first served? As an elder, I have been many places, and I have seen many faces. I have seen a lot, heard a lot, and witnessed a lot. Through my many years of experience, I have gained some knowledge – I know foolishness when I see it – and this is F O O L I S H N E S S that must be aborted.

We have more pressing issues at hand that need immediate attention. Folks continue to lose their homes due to the banks not working with them on loan modifications, especially since the Obama administration bailed the banks out.

More blacks are added to the homeless roll every day – women, men and children. Last, but not least, we should focus on having our own businesses so we can hire some of the many unemployed blacks. We must create a code of conduct for black business establishments, and we must ask questions about why black-owned businesses are hiring everybody but blacks in their own establishments. We must find out why this is happening, and if there is a problem, we must attack the problem and find the solution.

And for all the black people out there raising hell about the condition of black people, I have a few questions for you: Do you own a business? Can you name five black businesses that you frequent? Can you provide employment for just one black person? How are your children doing economically? Can you provide a job for your children? Are you and your children hanging on the white man’s economic “Life Support” machine? Let’s stop wasting time, energy, and money and get serious about changing our economy. When our economic status changes for the better, all the problems/issues we face will change in proportion to our assets.

Much Love to My People – And Yes, I am tired of the BS!
