*A coalition of Los, Angeles civil rights organizations are holding a “Justice for Sandra Bland” rally and candlelight vigil in her honor.

“Our coalition of civil rights leaders are holding this justice vigil for Sandra Bland, the 28 year old Chicago activist who regularly spoke out on police brutality and racism before her death in a Texas jail cell last week.

“Police say they found the 28 -year old dead  after she hanged herself with a plastic bag inside the Waller County Jail where she was incarcerated after allegedly assaulting an officer during a July 10 traffic stop.

” We find it hard to believe that Sandra who had everything to live for, would drive all the way from Chicago to Texas to hang herself and commit suicide. There are many questions surrounding her death. But my personal opinion is that Sandra was murdered by racist police in her jail cell. There is no other explanation,” stated Najee Ali, Political director National Action Network. Los Angeles,Chapter

” The  National Action Network and our national leader Rev Al Sharpton stands in full support of the Davis family, friends, and supporters nationwide as we support the Justice Department probe into what really happened in the death of Sandra Bland “everyone is encouraged to attend this vigil in her memory,”  stated Rev. K.W.Tulloss President L.A.Chapter of the National Action Network.
