*A coalition of Los, Angeles civil rights organizations are holding a “Justice for Sandra Bland” rally and candlelight vigil in her honor.

“Our coalition of civil rights leaders are holding this justice vigil for Sandra Bland, the 28 year old Chicago activist who regularly spoke out on police brutality and racism before her death in a Texas jail cell last week.

“Police say they found the 28 -year old dead  after she hanged herself with a plastic bag inside the Waller County Jail where she was incarcerated after allegedly assaulting an officer during a July 10 traffic stop.

” We find it hard to believe that Sandra who had everything to live for, would drive all the way from Chicago to Texas to hang herself and commit suicide. There are many questions surrounding her death. But my personal opinion is that Sandra was murdered by racist police in her jail cell. There is no other explanation,” stated Najee Ali, Political director National Action Network. Los Angeles,Chapter

” The  National Action Network and our national leader Rev Al Sharpton stands in full support of the Davis family, friends, and supporters nationwide as we support the Justice Department probe into what really happened in the death of Sandra Bland “everyone is encouraged to attend this vigil in her memory,”  stated Rev. K.W.Tulloss President L.A.Chapter of the National Action Network.

  1. The Justice Department is conducting a probe. I am happy to hear that. I hope they find a patter of practice and bring charges against them. That need to be held accountable!

  2. Look closely at her mug shot… On her left shoulder blade, it looks like blood on her shirt. Can you see it?

  3. “the Justice Department probe into what really happened in the death of Sandra Bland”

So can we finally expect something from these DOJ “probes” now that we have a black female attorney general?
Or it doesn’t really matter, since we are still talking about the same administration?

    • We shall see if there is a pattern of practice, and if the DOJ office that serves that area is willing to go the distance.

  4. Honestly, I am in a state of being beyond UPSET, ANGRY, OUTRAGED and APPALLED — up to the frazzled bewilderment of endless FRUSTRATION and NAUSEA regarding Sandra Bland’s senseless and tragic murder at the hands of ignorant corrupt, vigilante-like-cop Klansmen; perpetrators of toxic, mindless hate and racism towards a precious young woman of a melin blessed skin tone with everything positive to live fo and gain…

What’s truly heartbreaking? All Sandra Bland was trying to achieve was simply — start a new chapter in her life and career by relocating to Texas from Chicago via car to realize her dream in making a difference through a college outreach program designed to help students and/or potential students capture their dreams.

How does a routine and minor traffic stop offense end in harassment and cold-blooded murder; reminiscent to Jim Crow days of past whereas, murders like this were a common occurrence across this nation. Regrettably, racism has once again, resurrected it’s evil presence into the foundation of America’s soul.
What cuts me to the core of my being? When a hopeful and young African-American woman’s life is cut short because of an abuse of misguided police power laced in the toxic mindset of racism — relegating Sandra Bland’s life as being one who’s not worthy of FAIR treatment or afforded her basic civil human rights.

Then to add insult to injury??? These coward bigoted cops staged Sandra Bland’s murder to appear as a suicide hanging…

Do the idiot’s that killed Sandra really think for a moment that the people of this nation believe that LIE and travesty of justice???

If Martin Luther King were living in this moment of time, he would say:

“It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can stop him from lynching me, and I think that’s pretty important.”
    ~Martin Luther King Jr.

God created ALL women to be equal no matter, race, creed or culture — to be the carriers and nurtures of life. Therefore, the intrinsic “value” of a woman’s delicate life span is worth far more than the commodity of gold’s prominence and value in this world.

Sandra Bland was a Mother’s daughter — her precious Child; GOD’s masterful creation and an anointed child of GOD’s eternal love. We must NOT forget, Sandra was America’s daughter and sister! A precious life gone too soon.

WIth the above said, “there is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with the children of GOD. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they can grow and live in peace.” ~Kofi Annan

When will the method of racism’s madness inflame our long-suffering beautiful people-of-color, as sell as, ALL people of this Nation to vehemently and consistently demand accountability of our society, government, law makers and most importantly, law enforcement that they are NOT ABOVE THE LAW???

Lastly, how many other black men and women must wrongfully be murdered or die at the hands of police brutality before AMERICA STOPS the Holocaust???
