Future Kisses and Tells on Ciara: Didn’t Wait for Sex; ‘Prayed’ After

*Rapper Future joined HuffPost Live on Monday to talk about his new album “DS2,” he also opened up about the cause of his breakup with Ciara, and he put to rest rumors that he’s a deadbeat dad.

Future said their relationship didn’t end because of cheating, they simply grew apart.

“Everybody already had their speculations,” he told HuffPost. “I see a lot of people say he cheated, he cheated. Because, I feel like, 95 percent of relationships end with cheating. But me and her relationship had nothing to do with cheating. I feel like we were just growing away from each other and we grew apart.”

Future told host Marc Lamont that he called off their engagement long before any cheating rumors surfaced. His idea of a simple wedding with his family in attendance didn’t mesh with her ‘fairy tale’ wedding.

“She wasn’t too mad because I explained it to her how it was. I was like ‘I’ll marry you today,” Future said. “You want to get married, let’s get married. But I’m not getting married with all these different people in my wedding.  My family have to be there. I’m from the hood, hood people going to be there. It might be people that you don’t like that’s going to be there. But I know they love me, they got my best interest. I don’t want nobody from the industry there, I don’t want the media there. You know how girls have their fairy tale weddings, this how they pick it.”

Future suggested they get married and wait a year before announcing it to the public, but Ciara wasn’t having that.

“I was like we can do it a year from now and then we can announce it like we’re just getting married… just to keep the people out our business and keep it personal, let’s just get married now and tell them a year from now. By the time we announce it and get married on tv, we done went past the hard part. We’re on our second year. We done worked on our marriage for a whole year and she probably didn’t understand that at that time.”

On the rumor that he doesn’t take care of his children, Future said,

“That’s a total lie. I take care of all my kids to the fullest. I take care of my kids’ mom. My kid’s moms don’t work. I don’t know where it’s coming from. It’s nothing I don’t pay for. Find something I don’t pay for, and I’ll make sure I pay for it. That does frustrate me though, talking about my kids. Because I know that I’m a great dad. I could be better with timing because I got a busy schedule but I’m always going to be there.”

When Marc told Future about Ciara and Russell Wilson’s decision to abstain, Future said that while God never told him to wait for sex, Ciara did require that they pray afterwards.

“God told me something else. He ain’t tell me to wait,” Future said. “We prayed afterwards though. After we did it, we prayed. That was what really got me. ‘Man, she praying with a nigga.’ I ain’t never had nobody pray with me. That shit blowing me away.”
