*Brandy Norwood, currently on Broadway starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago, gave New York City subway users her famous pipes for free – and was completely ignored.

Completely.

The actress, 36, wore shades and a hoodie to go incognito. She brought along her friend Frank Silent to film the performance. After finishing her tune, she asks the passengers what they thought of her vocals. No one responded. No one even looked in her direction.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in New York. Ever since moving here in April I’ve made sure to REALLY experience the city,” she wrote on her blog on Monday, July 13. “I’ve hung out in Central Park, Times Square, ridden the bus, and I’ve gotten accustomed to taking the subway too. I feel like a real New Yorker. I’m learning the streets and everything, y’all! There’s something different about NY. The energy and the drive of the people is just DIFFERENT. I like it!”

She added: “I decided to hit the subway and sing my little heart out. You’ve GOTTA check out this video and see why this fun-filled morning left me asking: Can a Sistah get ONE fan?!”

Bystanders kept to themselves and made minimum eye contact with the star — except for one male passenger.

“Don’t be scared. You got talent man, go for it,” he told her. “We’ve seen this a million times. You’ve gotta do something different.”

  1. If you are from New York, you know you can run into talented and not-so-talented singers breaking into song on the subway train, platform, sidewalk, etc. all the time. It’s like Amateur Hour at the Apollo and you really have to almost get to a Patti LaBelle level before you’ll get even more than polite applause from by-standers. Brandy needs to stick to the stage where her name will get her applause and not get her feelings hurt.

  2. I don’t like none of her songs,to me she can’t never sings she terrible singer this gonna follow her as long as she sings and also i was there when she was singing i was another passenger did not applaud her;don’t got nothing against her or anything don’t know her but when we all her sing we not gonna applaud to a bad song.she need to stop everybody don’t have a gift for singing.some not able.

  4. Brandy IS talented ok?, but “this”?, simply did NOT….worrrrrrrrk, and could be seen as a desperate attempt for attention. Attention that unfortunately nowadays “truly talented people” don’t get & can’t even fkn …”BUY”!!! But?…I digress. SMH!
