*Evelyn Lozada visited NBC’s “Today” show this morning to promote her new reality series, “Livin’ Lozada,” which premieres Saturday (July 11) on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

The former star of VH1’s “Basketball Wives” said she spent two years away from reality television to focus on her personal life and her family.

Lozada, who went through a public divorce from former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson following a domestic abuse incident, said she wanted to do this new family-oriented series as a way to show how much she has evolved since her bad behavior on “Basketball Wives.”

“I felt like I put so much negativity out into the world with doing ‘Basketball Wives’, and after the domestic violence incident, I wanted to just do something positive,” she said. “I want to inspire women to really be strong and to have hope.”
