Kendrick Lamar Responds to Geraldo Rivera’s Crazy Criticism

geraldo-rivera-kendrick-lamar*Kendrick Lamar has a problem with folks who fail to understand the real message behind his hit song “Alright.”

So much so that the Compton rhymesayer told TMZ that critics like Geraldo Rivera are using his 2015 BET Awards performance of the track to stir up fake controversy. Chatting with “TMZ Live” on Thursday (July 2), Lamar addressed his critics and Rivera, who accused him and hip-hop as a whole of hurting black youth more than racism.

In his performance, Lamar opened the BET Awards by rapping on of a vandalized police car. Providing clarity on the song and the performance, Lamar mentioned to TMZ that the cop car was only” a performance piece after these senseless acts.” The real meaning of the song is one of hope.
