*Surprise! Mimi Faust and Nikko London’s sex tape was staged all along.
The “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star confirmed the trickery in an interview with Us Weekly as she stated that everything that folks checked out was set up from the very beginning.
According to Mimi, Nikko felt their lovemaking was like art. With that in mind, he believe that it needed to be documented for the public eye. Although she had her reservations, Mimi ended up going along with it.
“We had to say something,” she stated , regarding the lies. “I didn’t tell anybody the truth.”
The reality star’s don’t tell mind state went into effect after “LHHA” Season 3 as she got folks talking with saying the sex tape was stolen from Nikko’s bag at the airport. According to Mimi, footage from the episode made its way to Vivid Entertainment, which reached out to her and Nikko to make a deal.
To ensure a profit would be made from the tape, Us Weekly noted Mimi’s claims at the time about her and Nikko being required to film extra scenes to meet Vivid’s minute requirement.
The stage was set for the tape when a vulnerable and “f—ed up” Mimi hooked back up with her old friend Nikko in 2012 after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend Stevie J.
For Mimi, Nikko was initially a shoulder to lean on at the time — a “friend, understanding to what was going on”…with great sex to boot.
As things went on, Nikko’s motives started to come to light as well as Margeaux, his wife of 10 years, Nevertheless, Mimi still went with it and ignored her intuition, despite realizing what his intentions really were.
“Every time I would go to Nikko’s place, there would be a camera and a tripod in front of the bed at all times,” she remembers. “You know how you get that gut feeling? I didn’t listen to my gut instinct. I kind of just shoved it to the side.”
Apparently, the strategy paid off. The folks at TMZ report that Nikko and Mimi took in more than $400,00 in pre-sales when the sex tape hit the Internet in 2014. Adding to all the hype was the couple’s noteworthy freakiness, which included Mimi’s infamous balancing act on a shower rod.
“I get a check every quarter for the rest of my life,” Mimi said about still getting paid from the video. Still, that doesn’t mean it was a great move for her.
“Stupid decision? Yes,” Mimi told Us Weekly. “I wish I could take it back.”
