*Gay Pride Month” is being celebrated in Uptown on June 25 at MIST Harlem with a party with a purpose featuring some of television and music’s high profile gay Black celebs.

Everyone is invited to “One Love: LGBTQ and Friends Pride Kick Off Party” with pop-up interviews hosted Sister2Sister publisher Jamie Foster Brown.

“One Love: LGBTQ and Friends Pride Kick Off Party includes a rare interview with TV One’s R&B Divas newlywed star Monifah Carter and her bride Terez Mychelle. The pair was recently named one of BET’s Favorite Out and Proud Famous LGBT Couples for 2015. “We are more in love, if that is possible,” said Monifah. “It is about commitment and doing the right thing for now.”

Speaking out is Broadway and reality TV star Frenchie Davis, who appeared in Broadway’s Rent and TV’s American Idol and The Voice. Also, cast members of FYI Network’s B.O.R.N to Style fierce makeover reality show, author and playwright James Earl Hardy and his B-Boy Blues theatrical cast and Harlem’s acclaimed drag queen Peppermint. In addition, Proteus Spann and the cast from Invisible Life: The Musical, an adaptation of E. Lynn Harris’ bestselling novel;  Jessica Betts, a rocking singer and guitarist and the BET Music Matters who launched her career as winner of Missy Elliott’s Road to Stardom and Nona Hendryx, renowned singer-songwriter-producer-activist and former member of legendary trio LaBelle will be involved in the conversation.

One Love: LGBTQ and Friends Pride Kick Off Party is produced by Marsha R. Bonner and Musa Jackson, both high profile Harlem residents. The co-producer is Harlem Park to Park.

“The LGBTQ Community is an integral part of the diverse kaleidoscope of people calling Harlem home,” explained Bonner, a senior human resources professional and inspirational speaker, who launched a spiritually upbeat H.U.G.S. Movement (Helping Us Grow Spirituallytm). “This event will serve to reinforce that ‘We Are Out, We Are Proud and We Are Here to a Stay.’ There is no other place in this city that I want to be.  Harlem’s SWAG is unmatched right now.” And the SWAG is what Bonner brings to the table. With the mentality that “Love is Love,” Bonner gained global attention on ABC News’ John Quinones’ popular program What Would You Do? Her ability to navigate mediation during an argument on interracial dating at a Harlem barbershop on the segment lead to reaching over 70 million views worldwide on the internet.

It was a producer match made in heaven, when Harlem born and raised, Jackson was asked to be a part of this project. Jackson produces shows, parties and events at all of the major Uptown venues. “To be selected to co- produce the first One Love and Friends Pride Kick Off Party at Madiba / MIST Harlem celebrating the LGBT community is a huge honor,” stressed Jackson, CEO of Musa Jackson Productions/MJP. “Even more significant and necessary in this day and age is that we show our solidarity, represent our diversity, honor our culture and embrace our entire family. It’s truly One Love.”

One Love: LGBTQ and Friends Pride Kick Off Party has DJ Cazwell spinning hits all night. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance at My Image Studios Harlem (MIST Harlem) at 212.828.MIST or www.mistharlem.com. For more information:  https://www.madibaharlem.com/event/pride-kick-off/
