*CNN anchor Don Lemon’s over-the-top antics over President Obama’s use of the N-word in a podcast this week prompted Larry Wilmore to create a new segment on his Comedy Central program called, “Calm Down.”
On Tuesday’s “The Nightly Show,” Wilmore found made fun of Lemon holding up a sign that read “nigger” to begin his CNN show on Monday, asking viewers, “Does this offend you, this word?”
“Wow. You went literal race card, Don,” Wilmore cracked.
“By the way, that is a very impressive card! Kudos to the CNN prop closet just to have that at the ready!” he continued, imitating the person who had to retrieve the sign. “Hey, can someone snag me that ‘nigger’ card? Yeah, we’re talking about race!”
He then went a step further, airing a skit of a young, white CNN intern being told to order the sign at a local printing shop.
