*”Basketball Wives L.A.” star Draya Michele has announced that she and Orlando Scandrick are engaged. The Dallas Cowboys cornerback, 28, popped the question with a stunning 7-carat diamond engagement ring.
The on-again, off-again, on-again couple called it quits recently, but Orlando suddenly popped the question last Thursday evening at a movie theater in Sherman Oaks, CA.
“He told me to dress casual and we ended up going to where we had our first date,” Michele tells PEOPLE of the special night out at Arclight Cinemas. “He was acting so weird and so nervous. When he walked up to the bar he tripped and fell over some chairs! I was thinking ‘What in the world is wrong with him?’
“He got down on one knee and as soon as he started to talk I got nervous and couldn’t help but to laugh hysterically. I was laughing and crying at the same time.”
As for the ring, Orlando’s famous jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills, revealed to TMZ the ring’s value of $400,000!
“It was a pleasure designing this ring with Orlando. He was one of the most detailed oriented clients,” Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, said in a statement. “He wanted to make sure the ring was perfect and she couldn’t be happier.”
Draya and Orlando have been dating for roughly two years, and she has been quite vocal in the past about wanting a huge rock on her finger (peep video below). AS IF the size of a diamond is any indication of a man’s loyalty. Don’t believe me? Just ask any married man who has splurged on that massive rock for his wife, only to find himself constantly creeping’ on the low with a THOT he met on Tinder. Just saying…. It happens. More times than we may like to admit. Good luck to Draya and Orlando, tho!!
This will be the first marriage for Michele, 30, and her husband-to-be. Draya announced the news to her followers on Instagram by showing off her massive rock backed by a bed of red roses.
Michele is already mom to a 12-year-old son from a previous relationship. Scandrick is also dad to 5-year-old twin girls. The couple briefly split two months ago due to hectic schedules.
