*Celebrity couple Erica and Warryn Campbell join P&G’s My Black is Beautiful (MBIB) in celebration of the lives of African-American men everywhere.

The Campbells and MBIB are launching the Grooming My Black Man For Greatness program, in which Erica and Warryn will share inspirational messages that celebrate the important role of African-American men in the lives of African-American women and children.

The purpose of the program is to celebrate and praise African-American men in a time where media does not. Erica explains that the program is the start of “really igniting this conversation so more of this [uplifting and celebration] happens not just around Father’s Day or Black History Month, but throughout the year.”

While mainstream media does celebrate the beauty and occasionally the accomplishments of African-American women, men are rarely apart of the positive conversation. Through the inspirational messages and positive images, Erica and Warryn hope to build a better sense of community for African-American families.

“It’s more of a call to action,” Warryn adds, “we are asking people to join the celebration by sharing how special your black man is who is groomed for greatness in your life.” On the MBIB My Black Man webpage you can share images of a special black man in your life, share a story or an uplifting message and even include some of the brands Head & Shoulders, Crest and Braun if they are a part of your grooming rituals.

As a black man, Warryn stresses the importance of speaking up for us as a culture and having a male figure to help guide our children. “One of the things that bother me as a black man is that while it’s not 100% that there are no fathers in the home, we allow other cultures to speak about what our culture is.” As a male who had a father in the household and grandfather around to help mold his life, Warryn believes that it is a community topic as not all young men have fathers in their homes.

The Grooming My Black Man For Greatness program was created by MBIB to ignite real conversations amongst African-American women and invite men into conversation to make it a more positive one on a larger scale.
