The co-host of “The Talk” joins the cast of “Criminal Minds” for its upcoming Season 11 in a recurring role, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Tyler will play Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist who impresses Hotch (Thomas Gibson) during an investigation. She will fill the void left by Kate (Jennifer Love Hewitt), who departed after one season due to Hewitt’s pregnancy, and the upcoming maternity leave by A.J. Cook, who is also pregnant.

In May, showrunner Erica Messer told TVGuide.com that she’s mulling the idea of having rotating agents, including bringing back old faces. “Right now, we’re leaning towards keeping that position open but maybe having fun with some guest stars, things like that, especially with A.J. having maternity leave early in the season,” she said. “I feel like when you look at 10 years of people we could bring back, it would be fun to be able to do that.”
Tyler also voices Agent Lana Kane on FX’s animated series “Archer.” She also co-starred with Hewitt on “Ghost Whisperer” and guest-starred on another CBS show last season, “Two and a Half Men.”
