Tyrese Abuses Jennifer Hudson … in Short Film; Admits He’s White

Tyrese-Gibson*Tyrese Gibson is bringing a more serious and dramatic side to his music in a trailer for a short film inspired by his latest single “Shame.”

Tyrese released the trailer on Tuesday (June 16). Produced by Denzel Washington and directed by video producer Paul Hunter, the “Shame” short film features Tyrese as a conflicted family man who apparently wants to do right by his wife, played by Jennifer Hudson, but ends up doing wrong,

“Father God, thank you. Thank you for my wife, the most patient and beautiful woman in the world,” the singer-actor says in a scene that finds him and his family gathered around the dinner table.

As the trailer continues, viewers discover that Gibson’s character is a member of a musical act that includes two women. However, the life he has with one of the women is filled with drama as an argument between the pair quickly turns physical when Gibson’s character jumps out of his chair and slams Hudson’s character against a wall.

The release of the “Shame” short film trailer comes as the single remains at number two spot on the Billboard charts for nearly six weeks. “Shame” is among the songs included on Gibson’s upcoming album “Black Rose,” which is said to be his last solo project, according to MadamNoire.

“Black Rose” is set to be released on July 10. To see the “Shame” trailer, check out the video below.

*In other Tyrese news, the entertainer put his two cents into the discussion surrounding Rachel Dolezal while promoting “Black Rose” on “Access Hollywood Live.” Seizing the moment, Black-Ty put a light spin on the matter as he admitted that he is…a white man. So much so that he joked about changing the name of his album to “White Rose.”

“I wanted the world to know that as of this morning, I woke up and I decided that I’m a white man. That’s who I identify with. I’m just letting y’all know,” a smiling Gibson said.

“Just last week I was tanning. I’m trying to get a little more toned because it’s important to have everything be cohesive….we’re having fun. In America you can be whatever you want to be.”

As for Dolezal, Gibson advised critics to “go easy” on the former NAACP Spokane, Washington chapter president.

“First of all, you can’t go in on this woman. I mean, as much as she did for the African-American community, God bless her,” he said. “But at the end of the day, I think, you know, we tend to walk in the direction of things and people that you can identify with.”

When it was mentioned that folks were critical of Dolezal for not feeling what it is to be discriminated against nor that being part of her heritage, Gibson responded, saying,

“There’s a lot of black people who would say they don’t want to be black because there’s so much heat that comes with it. I mean, I don’t really know of too many white people that want to be black,” he stated. “I mean it just kind of happens. There’s this thing about white privileges, you know what I mean, but hey, you do what you want to do in life, “he stated before cracking another joke. “Like I said, as of this morning, I rolled out of my bed and I looked in the mirror and was like ‘man this is crazy that I’m not black anymore.”
