*NFL legend Emmitt Smith has reached a settlement in the $50K legal battle accusing him of fraud, and the complaint filed against him has been dismissed per the confidential deal he hashed out.

Smith is CEO of Emmitt Smith Enterprises which is the parent company to EJ Smith Supply, a construction company based in Dallas. According to the complaint, EJ Smith ordered $46,448.65 in product from Redi-Mix Concrete last summer, and never forked over the cash.

Redi-Mix filed a lawsuit back in February, accusing Smith, EJ Smith Supply and Emmitt Smith Enterprises of not paying for services rendered. The company attempted to support their claim by noting that Emmitt was paid for the jobs he did using their materials, but he stiffed ‘em.

The company accused the former NFL running back of committing fraud and purposely screwing them out of their $50K, 46K due on their invoices + damages and attorney fees.

Emmitt denied the allegations of fraud in court docs filed shortly after he was slapped with the lawsuit. Despite his claim of innocence, –thejasminebrand exclusively reports that Smith recently reached a confidential settlement with the company shortly before the case was set to go before the judge.

No comment from either side has been made concerning the settlement.

Before his time as a professional, Smith played college ball for the University of Florida, where he was unanimously voted an All-American, even though he left the school during his Junior year.

His consistent performances earned him a first round pick with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990 NFL Draft, and since then, Smith has become best known for his long time record for NFL All-Time Rusher. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Three days before Super Bowl XXXIX in February 2005, Smith announced his retirement from the NFL. He was released by the Arizona Cardinals and signed a one-day contract for one dollar with the Dallas Cowboys—after which he immediately retired as a Cowboy, the team he played for from 1990 to 2002.
