*In six months, Jussie Smollett went from being known as Jurnee’s older brother, to international superstar – thanks to the January 2015 premiere of Fox’s “Empire.”

As his character Jamal prepares to take the throne in Season 2, the actor says he is humbled by the crazy amount of fame the Lee Daniels-run show has brought him…throughout the world.

“It’s pretty insane, and I talk to all these beautiful viewers online all the time, on Twitter and Instagram, especially Twitter,” he tells us. “And, it’s all around the world, now. I get Instagrams and Tweets everywhere from Australia to Kenya. That’s pretty spectacular. It’s just been a blessing, man. It’s been unreal.”

Jussie, who confirmed in March that he’s gay, says he’s also thrilled to have become a role model by portraying a gay character.
