*Members of N.W.A. will reunite for the first time in 15 years for a one-off show on June 27 in Los Angeles.
BET made the announcement today, stating the concert is spearheaded by N.W.A. member turned solo rap star Ice Cube and comes ahead of the release of the group’s biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” due in August.
Other top West Coast rappers including Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q will also perform.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Cube said he would perform with N.W.A. member DJ Yella for the first time since 1989 and fellow bandmate MC Ren for the first time since 2000.
As for Dr. Dre, Cube hinted that he may show up at the reunion, saying, “I hope he blesses us with his presence.”
The show will take place during the four-day “BET Experience” event in Los Angeles.
