*A selection of Whitney Houston’s films, including “The Bodyguard,” “Waiting to Exhale,” “The Preacher’s Wife” and “Sparkle,” will be screened as part of a tribute to the late singer at July’s Ischia Global Film and Music Festival in Italy, organizers announced.

Ischia’s honorary chair Mark Canton said of the homage: “Her voice, her music, her mere presence on the air or on the screen made Whitney Houston an icon of the ages. She is missed. Her talent lives on, not only at Ischia but throughout the world as well.”

A special screening of the Lifetime biopic “Whitney” will lead the commemoration, playing July 11, one night before the Italian festival’s opening.

“Whitney,” Angela Bassett’s directorial debut, details the tumultuous relationship of Houston (Yaya DaCosta) and Bobby Brown (Arlen Escarpeta).

Houston died February 11, 2012 after accidentally drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The official coroner’s report listed the effects of heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors to her death.

The Ischia Global Film and Music Fest runs July 12-19 off the coast of Naples.

Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos will receive the Ischia Global Legend Award. Other guests include Dante Ferretti, Sandy Powell, Paul Haggis, Bille August, Franco Nero and Lina Wertmuller.
