*Jaden Smith, the eclectic celebrity son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, accompanied “Hunger Games” actress Amandla Stenberg to prom last Friday night.
Jaden, who has a flair for the unconventional and the publicity it generates, ditched the traditional tuxedo and wore a black and white dress with a black suit jacket over top of it.
Stenberg, 16, who played Rue in the series first film, wore her hair in long braids and rocked a metallic halter dress. She posted pictures of the event on Instagram along with the caption “Here’s to high school.”
You may recall last month when Jaden rocked a white Batman suit for his prom date with Mecca Kalani, who goes by “Crystal Mec.” She posted the following picture on Instagram along with the caption: “What a night.”
In related news, Jaden is rumored to have landed a role in the DC Cinematic Universe as the teenage superhero Static Shock.
Warner Bros. is working on a Static Shock movie or TV show, and Jaden has reportedly been offered the role.
Tyler James Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Walking Dead”) leaked the information during a recent interview while discussing the lack of black superheroes – to which someone in the background said, Static Shock and Spider-Man. Tyler’s response:
“I don’t know… what you’re talking about,” said Williams to Flicks And The City with a cheeky smile. “But yeah no, it’s great to see Static Shock is happening with Jaden.”
Jaden has been away from media coverage since he released his three-song album “This Is the Album” in February this year.
In May, Ace Showbiz reported that Jaden deleted his Twitter account, but the 16-year-old actor, who used “officialjaden” as his Twitter ID, has not yet addressed the matter and his representatives have yet to offer an official statement about it.
