Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby Took Past Case to ‘Judge Judy’

marilyn mosby*Long before she became the State’s Attorney for Baltimore, Marilyn Mosby was honing her skills on “Judge Judy.”

A clip from an episode of the show that aired in 2000 shows the then 20-year-old Tuskegee University undergraduate student bringing her case against Ryan Johnson, whom she accused of breaking into her four-bedroom apartment in Alabama while she was away during summer break.

Detailing her story, MadameNoire.com mentioned how the future top prosecutor argued that Johnson broke down her door, trashed her apartment and hosted his pregnant wife’s baby shower in her home while she was away. As the clip continued, its plain to see that Mosby came ready to state her case as she presented more than enough photographic evidence before Judge Judith Sheindlin.

Despite Johnson countering that with him not being responsible for the break-in, Sheindlin wasn’t having it as she quickly saw through his act and ruled in Mosby’s favor.

From the looks of it, Johnson’s written account of what went down was dramatically different from the testimony he delivered in court, MadameNoire pointed out.

“Mr. Johnson, what you did to this young woman was wrong,” Sheindlin said. “You figured she is a college student, she has no way of fighting back, she has nothing else to do … You took advantage of her.”

“You’re going to get every cent that you’re suing for,” Sheindlin told Mosby, who came away from court victorious with $1,731.90 awarded to cover the damages.
