*Landover Hills, MD – Participants from across the DC area will show their support for the families of missing children and adults during ‘The Hope Without Boundaries’ 5K Walk/Run benefitting the Black & Missing Foundation, Inc., (BAMFI)
BAMFI is a non-profit organization that brings awareness to missing persons of color, provide vital resources and tools to missing person’s families and friends, and educate the minority community about personal safety.
The race will take place at the National Harbor in Ft. Washington, Maryland at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015. For registration and sponsorship information, visit: www.hwb5k.org
Special guests include Allison Seymour, News Anchor Fox5 DC, and Micheline Bowman, News Coordinator Fox5DC. Actors Elise Neal of “Hollywood Divas,” Malinda Williams of “Accidental Love,” Darrin Henson of “Chocolate City,” and Aaron D. Spears of “Being Mary Jane” have endorsed the event.
At BAMFI, we believe that every missing person, regardless of age, race, mental ability or circumstance, deserves awareness. We are dedicated to “Being the Voice for the Missing” by providing a platform of hope. According to the FBI, 40 percent of all persons reported missing are of color.
