*Political analyst and Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson on Sunday, May 3 announced that the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable presented Maryland State Attorney Marilyn Mosby with its Civic Achievement Award.

The award is given to honor her for her exemplary action in prosecuting the six Baltimore police officers accused of abuse in the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore.

“Given the deadly seriousness of police violence and misconduct as a national issue of deep concern, Ms. Mosby, sent a strong message with her courageous action that law enforcement officers are not above the law,” says Hutchinson, “And that they must and will be held fully accountable for abuse and misconduct.”

Hutchinson further notes, “The award is also given to her to serve as inspiration and encouragement to other citizens to responsible, proactive engagement and involvement in reporting on, disclosing, and challenging alleged wrongdoing, misconduct and citizen abuse by police, public officials and employees.”
