Freddie Gray Rally Set for LA – Michael Brown’s Father to Speak

*While the nation is focused on the civil unrest in Baltimore that grew out of the still unexplained death of Freddie Gray at the hands on that city’s police department, a rally for Freddie Gray is scheduled for Los Angeles.

Specifically, the National Action Network a leading Los Angeles civil rights organization will hold a vigil and rally in memory of Freddie Gray, the young African American man who died in police custody in Baltimore. Michael Brown Sr., father of Michael Brown killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri is a confirmed special guest speaker.

When: Thursday, April 30

Time: 6:00 pm

Location: Leimert Park
Crenshaw and Vernon

Why?: L.A activists stand in solidarity with the Baltimore activists and demand justice for brother Freddie Gray. Michael Brown, Ezell Ford, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner and Alesia are just a few names of African American’s who have all died unarmed at the hands of the police nationwide in controversy case’s.

“Enough is enough and were talking it the streets in LA and encourage other activists to do so as well, ” said Najee Ali political director of the National Action Network.”

“Our organization under the leadership of Rev Al Sharpton is outraged by the death of Freddie Gray and offer our support to his family. We’re honored to have Michael Brown Sr. the father of Michael Brown killed by police in Ferguson as our special guest speaker in Los Angeles as we seek to connect nationally to fight back against police brutality,” stated Rev K. W. Tulloss President of the LA chapter of the National Action Network.
