*KeKe Palmer stopped by “Access Hollywood” and talked about her new book, her upcoming roles and the return of her talk show, “Just KeKe.” Also, she opened up about her haters and bullying she’s faced.

She started with talking about her new, upcoming film, “Brotherly Love,” a drama about a high school superstar basketball player, Sergio Taylor (Eric D. Hill Jr.), pressures of hood fame.

The film opens up on Friday, April 24. But that only scratches the surface of what Palmer talked about during the interview. She got candid about her career and the trolls who bullied her.

On Bullying and her new book:

I’m writing my first book right now and [the bullying] is something that I really want to put in there because everybody experiences something like that from a different scale. I had to realize that it may seem like: ‘Ohh, why are people being mean to me?’ But actually that (bullying) happens to a lot of people and not even just celebrities. So to hear it from the point of view of me, I think it might be able to help a lot of people see, ‘You know what, you can’t take it personal. You can’t take this stuff personal. That person doesn’t know you and they don’t even know who you are. They are just trying to get your attention.’

You’ve got to take yourself out of it and see it for what it is. I’ve been there and it can be hurtful.

People are used to seeing me a certain way and when you’re a young person that has been in the limelight a long time and on top of that, you make a drastic change, sometimes it can be hard for people. But again, I can’t make it my problem. I had to learn like, you know what? If it’s other people who want to have a problem dealing with that, I’ve got to let that be. I can’t change people’s opinions. Ive got to keep going for my own self.

On changing her hair from short back to weaves:

Scream Queens! The new show that I’m doing with Fox. I do miss the short hair. But that’s one of the great things about being an actress, wherever they want you to go character wise you gotta go. That’s why I was having so much fun with my short hair because that was a time where I had just gotten off Broadway and I was like ‘I get to try all the stuff I wanted to try that I didn’t get to try for a certain job or this that and the third.’ So I got the time to experiment with my hair and it was a lot of fun. So when I get another chance, I’m going back.

On the second season of “Just KeKe”:

This past year, I did the first season of my show ‘Just Keke’ which I am getting ready to go back into production for in May. I’m really excited about it. It’s definitely been a dream of mine since I was about 16 so for it to finally come into fruition is [amazing].

I felt like there was nothing on TV that I myself could relate to. It’s true there were shows that I liked to watch that I could get a perspective from but there was never a perspective from my age group or really tackling what we’d be going through, know what I mean? Especially since social media and the Internet generation is our generation, a lot of things were being totally misunderstood and misinterpreted.

I’m 21 now. 22 in August so you know, I’m climbing up there.
